Middle School Student Recognition

Travis Ranch ASB sponsors Middle School student recognition and awards. Students who demonstrate excellence in the areas of scholarship, citizenship, school participation, school pride, and improvement will be recognized.

Honor Roll Recognition: Students who earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher will qualify for the honor roll as follows:
4.00 G.P.A. Principal’s Honor Roll
3.5 – 3.99 G.P.A High Honor Roll
3.0 – 3.49 G.P.A. Honor Roll

Birthdays:
Each student is recognized on his or her birthday during the regular morning announcements. Birthdays that fall on a weekend date or holiday will be recognized on Friday or Monday each week. July birthdays will be recognized in June and August birthdays will be recognized in September.

AWARDS INCLUDE:
Trailblazer of the Month:
Each teacher selects one student each month who demonstrates outstanding scholarship, citizenship, school participation and meets academic and behavior goals. Students will receive a certificate, a letter from the principal, and a gift certificate from a local business.

Trailblazer of the Day:
Each day one 6th, 7th, and 8th grade student will be awarded ‘Trailblazer of the Day’ by the Travis Ranch staff. Students will receive a certificate and a coupon for a free cookie. Students are selected for positive behavior.

'Responsibility - Integrity - Safety - Engagement' (RISE) Cards:
RISE cards are given to students by teachers, staff members, noon aides, and instructional aides for recognition of service, special accomplishments, acts of cooperation, demonstration of school pride, and showing respect for others. Students will turn in their cards for a drawing held each month. One student from each grade level will be selected to receive a gift purchased with ASB funds.

100% Club:
Teachers award students ‘100% Club’ cards when they earn 100% on major tests and projects in each classroom. Students are given an opportunity to have their card selected in weekly drawings, during a TRTV morning announcement broadcast. Students, whose names are selected, will receive a free ice cream treat.

School Spirit Fridays:
All middle school students are encouraged to wear TRMS spirit shirts on Fridays. Spirit shirts include PTA 'Spirit Wear,' Leadership student shirts, Yearbook student shirts, Vocal Music and Instrumental Music student shirts, TRTV student shirts, WEB Leader shirts, WE Club shirts, etc. Students wearing spirit wear are rewarded in a variety of ways, including RISE cards.

Awards Night:
Middle School Awards Night will be held in May. This annual event honors outstanding student academic and performance achievement. 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are selected to receive a certificate and/or an engraved plaque by both classroom teachers and departments. Parents of the students receiving an award will receive an invitation by mail several weeks prior to the event.

Promotion Ceremony:
Six 8th grade students will be selected by teachers and school administrators to receive a plaque or medallion during the Promotion Ceremony. Award selection is based upon outstanding student academic achievement, school citizenship, service to the school and community, as well as superior essay writing.
